Circumstances: Charles Gay was last seen at a Skagway hostel on 09/26/2000. Gay, who is a geologist, told the hostel manager he was heading to Upper Dewey Lakes to look for rocks. A search began for him the following morning when he did not return. He was not believed to have had overnight gear with him.
