Circumstances: Gib was seen seen taking photographs from his truck along Hwy 14 between Wapiti Campground and Elk Fork Bridge. His vehicle was later discovered abandoned at a pullout approximately a half mile west of Wapiti Campground, 30 miles west of Cody. His hiking boots, gear and lunch were found in his truck.

A winter storm brought around 12-14 inches of snow the two days after Gib was last seen, covering any trace of his direction of travel.
