Circumstances: Investigation shows that Vining last worked at Smythe's IGA in Presque Isle and that she last appeared for work there in October 1998. Vining, described as a dependable employee, just stopped coming to work and never returned to pick up her last paycheck. Vining's former husband and her three adult children, last saw her in 1998. Vining had a history of moving without much notice but had never been out of her family's lives for more than a few years at a time. In 2006, a Missing Person's report was finally filed, 8yrs after she went missing.
