Circumstances: Ricky was last seen at his home on August 4, 2007. He left the door unlocked and fish baking in the oven. There were no signs of foul play at the home. Nelson's truck, a blue '98 Chevy S-10 pickup was found 2 days later on Tons Road just off State Highway 155 near Saline, LA. There was damage to the driver's side and 2 tires were off their rims. Tire tracks indicate the truck was driven on the shoulder of the road for about a quarter of a mile from the accident scene before it was abandoned. Truck was unlocked with keys & Nelson's checkbook inside. Ground and air searches were conducted to no findings.
