Circumstances: On March 30th 2012 John Lee Mangrum was reported missing by his biological son. Mangrum was in the early stages of Alzheimer's and had been having ever increasing episodes related to the disease. An exhaustive search was conducted, but to no avail. There was no evidence of foul play. Mangrum has relatives in the Wister, OK area and had relayed to family members that he would travel there and 'hide in the woods' if they ever tried to put him in a nursing home.
