Circumstances: John Dohms suffers from dementia. He walked away from his home on Thursday afternoon, September 13, 2012. His house in Newark Delaware is located next to a hiking trail which leads to White Clay State Park. He has walked the trail many times.

Mr. Dohms is athletic and until his dementia affected his lifestyle he swam, biked and walked on a regular basis. He was last seen wearing khaki shorts, a bright green button down shirt, green socks and white tennis shoes.

A search team was mobilized including volunteers with search and rescue experience. A reverse 911 call went out and bought in tips from those to the north of his home near the town of Hockessin Delaware where he may have been spotted 3 times . A bloodhound was bought to the area after the third possible siting around 7 pm on Saturday September 15. The bloodhound picked up a scent but lost it. John has not been seen since his possible siting near Hockessin.
